- Lisa is the 5th child born in the Christian home of the late Deacon Frank and Bettye L. Taylor. You may often hear her say, ‘you can’t join in, you gotta to be born in it’, that’s her way of staying connected to her foundational teachings of the Church of God in Christ. (This is actualIty a line in one of the signature songs of COGIC, This is the Church of God in Christ.) Lisa’s talents include directing the choir. At the tender age of 13, Bishop Shepherd Little (Pastor of the King of Glory Tabernacle COGIC) saw God move in her in the most unique manner. He summons her to direct not only the Radio Choir at KOG, but also the Goodwill District Choir and ultimately the mass choir of the 1st Jurisdiction of Illinois. A passion she still carries today. In 1979, the world that she had come to know shifted to a place that she never would have imagined as she was joined in Holy Matrimony with David Ballard. WOW, what a shift! Their marriage was not void of controversy, yet, it became mantel to tear down denominational barriers. David and Lisa build a solid foundation of marriage, raising the next generation of kingdom builders and establishing ministry that would help thousands.
My Hobbies
- My name is Lisa Ballard and I am addicted to television!! Love it! I love reading books with no literary value and playing games on my telephone. These things help me to relax.
My Favorite Things
- I love being wife, mother and YaYa (that is what my grandchildren call me). Family is very important to me and husband is my FIRST favorite thing. Vacations in warm places and learning new things. I am a choir head and I have no problem jumping in when I can. Then there is Tip Big Dog Ballard, our 70lb American Staffordshire Terrier, he is a solid member of The Ballard family.
