Who is Lisa T. Ballard?

Elder Lisa T. Ballard was born and raised in 

Chicago, Illinois. In 1979, she married

her high school sweetheart, Pastor David Ballard, Sr. 

They both heeded the call of God upon their

lives, which brought them together in love for Jesus, for ministry, and each other. Through

enthusiastic oratory, biblical teaching, and unwavering faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this

dynamic duo led the Sunrise Full Gospel Baptist Church to be a pillar of Chicago’s Englewood

community. After 36 years of dedicated service, Pastor Ballard and Elder Lisa transitioned to

emeritus status, which allowed for their son-in-love and daughter to carry the church on to even

greater heights.

Elder Lisa displays her heart for many by using her wisdom and her personal

testimony as minister, wife, mother, and grandmother as a living example of the Proverbs 31 woman.

She is the author of “Make It A Great Day”. A 40-day devotional of how you can own your day.

Elder Lisa’s preaching is filled with humor, transparency, and humility, captivating audiences across

the barriers of denomination, race, and age. She has carried this ministry from church to church,

prisons, schools, and conferences across the United States. She has become a mentor, motivator,

and inspiration to many.

Elder Lisa considers one of her greatest achievements to be raising a multi-talented family that ministers

in and out of the pulpit. She is the proud mother of one son, three daughters, mother-in-love to

two, and the grandmother of 10.
